Digital marketing consultant in Ahmedabad for businesses that want measurable growth
Marketing should generate business, not just activity. I help growing businesses in Ahmedabad find what is holding their marketing back, build a profitable acquisition strategy, and turn marketing spend into enquiries and revenue you can measure. One senior marketing mind, one clear strategy, one number we both answer for.
17+ years · ₹100 Cr+ revenue generated for clients · 125+ clients served · Independent consultant: your team or agency executes, I decide and answer for the result. Office on Jagatpur Road, off SG Highway.
Does this sound like your business?
Most owners who call a digital marketing consultant in Ahmedabad are not short of marketing. They are short of someone who can tell them why it is not turning into business.
Spend is rising, revenue is not
Google, Meta, a social media agency, a website refresh. Each line in the budget grew this year. Enquiries did not grow with it, and nobody can say which rupee produced which customer.
Three vendors, no owner
The SEO company reports rankings, the ads agency reports clicks, the social team reports reach. Each report looks fine. Nobody reports on the one number you run the business on.
Leads, but not customers
The phone rings and the form fills. Most of it is price-shopping, the wrong location or the wrong size of order. The problem is not traffic. It is positioning, lead quality, follow-up or pricing, and nobody has diagnosed which.
The business outgrew its marketing
Referrals, relationships and a Justdial listing built the first crore. The next stage needs a system that brings in the right buyers without the owner personally chasing each one.
Decisions wait for you
Every campaign, creative, budget and vendor question lands on the owner's desk. Marketing moves at the speed of your evenings.
Reports without decisions
There is a dashboard. There is a monthly PDF. What there is not is a senior person who reads the numbers and changes what happens next.
If three or more of these are true, you do not need another vendor. You need a diagnosis, a plan, and someone who answers for the result. That is the job I do.
Why "more marketing" has not fixed it
The usual fixes treat the symptom. Four patterns I see in almost every Ahmedabad business that has been spending for two years or more without a clear return.
Agency dependency
The agency writes its own brief, sets its own targets and grades its own work. Switching agencies every year changes the logo on the report, not the result, because the strategy was never yours to begin with.
Disconnected channels
SEO, ads, social and the website are bought from different people and never designed as one path from search to sale. The visitor who clicks an ad lands on a page built for a different message and leaves.
Tracking that stops at the click
Analytics counts sessions and leads. The CRM, if there is one, counts deals. Nothing connects the two, so nobody knows the cost of a customer by channel, and budget is allocated by habit.
No single point of accountability
The owner is the de facto marketing head without the time to do the job. Vendors optimise their own metric. Sales blames lead quality. Marketing blames sales. The number nobody owns is revenue.
What it costs to keep going
Another year of this is not neutral. A growing Indian business typically commits a meaningful share of revenue to marketing; run as activity, most of it buys attention that never becomes a customer. When marketing cannot prove its value, sales buys the deal with discount, and the price war shows up in the P&L. And the owner spends the hours that should go to product, people and pricing on reviewing creatives. The fix is not a bigger budget. It is a diagnosis, a strategy and a person accountable for both.
What a digital marketing consultant does, when the job is done properly
I am an independent consultant. I do not sell a package of services and I do not run your ads or your social media. I decide what the marketing is for, brief whoever executes it, and hold them, and myself, to the number.
Diagnose before spending
An audit of positioning, customers, funnel, channels, tracking and team, delivered as a written diagnosis with priorities. Not a list of services to buy.
Decide the mix and the budget
Which channels deserve your money, in what order, with what budget and target for each. Most Ahmedabad businesses I meet run four channels when two would do the work.
Lead the people who execute
Your in-house team, your agency or your freelancers. I write the briefs, review the work on a scorecard, and connect every monthly review to one question: what did the money return?
Execution stays with your team or your agency. That separation is what keeps the advice honest: I have no reason to recommend a channel because I would bill for running it. When the plan needs a senior person to own it month after month, the engagement becomes Fractional CMO services; the diagnosis and strategy are the same either way.
What I advise on: the whole marketing function, not a channel menu
A digital marketing consultant who only talks about channels is an agency without the hands. The job covers everything between your business goal and the customer, and every part is judged on a business number.
Strategy, brand and positioning
Positioning and brand strategy
Who you are for, what you are the best choice at, and the one reason to pick you over the cheaper option. The proof stack behind it and the identity that carries it consistently from website to showroom. Measured on: win rate and discount given.
Customer, market and competitor research
Who buys, why, how they research and decide, what competitors own in search and in the sales conversation, and where the unclaimed ground is. Measured on: share of qualified demand in your category.
Offer, pricing and go-to-market
What you sell, how it is packaged and priced, and the sequence of segments and markets to win. Marketing cannot fix an offer that does not convert at the price. Measured on: margin and revenue mix.
Annual marketing plan and budget
Objectives, channel mix, budget by quarter, campaign calendar, owners and targets, written so the business can run it and the owner can read it in a page. Measured on: revenue against plan.
Demand: every channel, chosen rather than bought
Campaign planning and creative direction
Launches, seasonal pushes, product campaigns and always-on demand: objective, audience, message, channel mix, creative brief, budget and the number each campaign must hit. Measured on: campaign cost per qualified opportunity.
SEO, local search and AI search
Technical health, search intent by page, topical authority, Google Maps visibility for Ahmedabad searches, content gaps, and how your business appears, or does not, in AI-generated answers. Measured on: qualified organic enquiries, not rankings.
Paid media: Google, Meta, YouTube, LinkedIn, programmatic
Account structure, audience logic, creative briefs, landing-page match and tracking to the sale. ₹5 Cr+ of spend managed across these platforms; I know where the waste hides. Measured on: cost per qualified opportunity and payback.
Social media, content and video
What to say, where, in what format, and how it connects to the sales conversation; a calendar and production rhythm the team can run; founder-led content where it earns trust. Measured on: assisted enquiries and sales-cycle length, not followers.
Marketplaces, directories and partnerships
IndiaMART, Justdial, Google Business Profile, trade directories, channel partners, dealer and referral programmes, and the qualification that stops them flooding sales with the wrong leads. Measured on: lead quality and conversion by source.
Offline, events and PR, connected to digital
Exhibitions, dealer meets, print, radio, outdoor and press, planned as part of one funnel with tracking and follow-up, so offline spend is measured like online spend. Measured on: attributable pipeline from each activity.
Conversion and retention
Website, landing pages and conversion
Message match from ad to page, offer clarity, proof, forms, speed and follow-up. One landing-page sprint took conversion from under 1% to 12% (see how). Measured on: enquiry rate and lead quality.
Lead management, CRM and sales enablement
Capture, routing, response time, qualification, follow-up sequences on email and WhatsApp, and the handover to sales with one definition of a qualified lead. Measured on: lead-to-customer conversion and response time.
Retention, repeat and referral
Lifecycle communication, loyalty and referral mechanics, and the customer experience moments that decide whether the second order happens. The cheapest growth most businesses ignore. Measured on: repeat rate and customer lifetime value.
AI and marketing automation
Where AI removes work from content, reporting, follow-up and research, and where it adds a tool nobody uses. The stack chosen for the business you have, not the demo you saw. Measured on: hours removed and cost per lead.
Measurement and leadership
Analytics, attribution and marketing ROI
One funnel from first touch to revenue, across every channel, in your own analytics and CRM. Budget allocation by cost per customer and payback, reviewed monthly and moved without sentiment. Measured on: marketing-attributed revenue against spend.
Team, agency and vendor leadership
Who you need in-house and who you should buy, written briefs and scorecards for every agency and freelancer, the hiring of missing roles, and monthly reviews that hold everyone to the same number. Measured on: output per rupee of spend and fee.
When the problem is strategy rather than channels, start with marketing strategy consulting; when it is the acquisition engine itself, see growth consulting; when the brand is the constraint, see brand strategy and identity. When you want one person to own all of it month after month, that is Fractional CMO services.
The 5D Marketing Diagnostic: how I work
Five stages, in order. Each ends with something you can hold, read and decide on, so the engagement never becomes a retainer without a result.
01 · Discover
Understand the business before the marketing
Business model, margins, sales cycle, customers, competitors and the market you are actually in. Interviews with you, sales, your team and a few customers. Numbers before opinions.
You get: a one-page picture of how the business makes money and where marketing can move it.
02 · Diagnose
Find where the leak is
Channel-by-channel performance, the funnel from visit to sale, conversion points, tracking gaps, agency briefs and results, and the team's capability against the plan.
You get: a written diagnosis with the three to five decisions that matter, ranked by impact.
03 · Design
One strategy, tied to revenue
Positioning and message, the customer segments to win in order, the channel mix, the budget logic and the KPIs that connect marketing to the P&L. Decided with you, not presented to you.
You get: a one-page strategy, a 12-month roadmap and a 90-day plan with owners and targets.
04 · Deploy
Brief the people who build it
Written briefs and scorecards for every agency and freelancer, roles for the in-house team, CRM and tracking set up from first touch to revenue, and the first campaigns launched against targets.
You get: execution that runs to your plan, and a dashboard that reports in business numbers.
05 · Drive
Review, optimise, stay accountable
Monthly performance reviews against target, budget moved to what works, vendors held to their scorecards, and the quarterly reset of priorities. This is the stage where consulting becomes leadership: when you want one senior person to own the number month after month, Drive runs as a Fractional CMO engagement.
You get: a marketing function that improves every quarter and runs without you in the room.
What you get when you engage me as your marketing consultant
Consulting is only worth paying for if you can see what you bought. These are the artefacts every engagement produces.
| Deliverable | What you receive |
|---|---|
| Marketing health assessment | Where marketing stands today: performance by channel, gaps, waste, and what is working that you may not know about. |
| Customer and competitor analysis | Who buys, why, how they research, and where competitors are winning the search and the sale. |
| Channel performance audit | Channel by channel: what is producing qualified enquiries, what is wasting money, and what is missing. |
| Budget allocation plan | Recommended investment by channel, with the cost per customer and payback each is expected to deliver. |
| Conversion assessment | Website, landing pages, forms, follow-up and the lead-to-sale handover, with the specific fixes in priority order. |
| 90-day marketing roadmap | Priorities, milestones, owners and targets for the next quarter, written so your team can run it. |
| KPI and measurement framework | One funnel from spend to revenue: enquiries, qualified leads, cost per customer, conversion, revenue and ROI, in your own tools. |
| Execution briefs and scorecards | Written briefs for your team, agencies or freelancers, and the scorecard each is reviewed against every month. |
Everything is written in plain business language and stays with you after the engagement. Nothing is locked in a tool you have to keep paying for.
Who this is for, and who it is not
Consulting works when the owner wants a decision, not a second opinion. Being clear about fit protects your time as much as mine.
A good fit
- Established SMEs in Ahmedabad and Gujarat that want to professionalise marketing beyond referrals and relationships
- Manufacturers and B2B companies that need predictable, qualified lead generation rather than brand noise
- Clinics, hospitals, schools and training institutes scaling patient or student acquisition
- Startups with paying customers but no structured marketing leadership
- Businesses already spending on marketing, in-house or through agencies, that cannot measure the return
- Financial services, real estate and technology businesses selling on trust and a considered decision
Not the right fit
- You want inexpensive social media posting, a one-off design job or "someone to run the ads"; you need an agency or a freelancer, and I can help you brief one
- You are pre-revenue and still validating the offer; let's talk once the first customers are paying
- You want a guarantee of results tied to fees; I do not work on performance-linked fees because they reward short-term tactics over the number that matters
- You are not willing to implement recommendations, change a vendor or move budget when the data says so
Industries I have worked with in Ahmedabad include clinics and aesthetic practices, schools and training institutes, manufacturers and B2B firms; across India, financial services, real estate and technology platforms. The approach is the same wherever the buyer takes a considered decision: understand the buyer first, then choose the channels.
Results from Ahmedabad and Gujarat, with the reasoning behind them
Numbers without context persuade nobody. Each case below shows the starting point, the real problem, what changed and what it produced. Client names are withheld under confidentiality.
Education · Ahmedabad
From 10–15 to 100–120 enquiries a day, with marketing cost cut in half
The brief: "We need more enquiries." The diagnosis: the national animation and VFX education brand's Ahmedabad centre already received enquiries every day and converted almost none. No tracking, a website that argued against enrolment, no funnel from enquiry to counselling to admission, and five channels running separately. An architecture problem dressed as a demand problem. What changed: tracking and automated follow-up first, then the platform and the funnel rebuilt, then the channels made to compound. Read the case study.
Healthcare · Ahmedabad
From 10 to 30–40 surgeries a month for a premium aesthetic clinic
The brief: "Our marketing isn't bringing patients." The diagnosis: a surgeon with an outstanding offline reputation and a digital presence that contradicted it, no data on which enquiries or channels produced serious patients, and manual scheduling that capped consultations. More ads would have created a waiting list that leaked. What changed: the brand rebuilt to match the surgeon, systems for patient data and scheduling, then demand generation; organic traffic grew 608% along the way. Read the case study.
Financial services · Gujarat
One brand, every major city: Kotak Mahindra across Gujarat
The brief: launch child plans and open insurance offices across Gujarat's major cities at once. The diagnosis: multi-city launches rarely break in strategy; they break in execution, with different vendors and local teams making the brand look slightly different everywhere, and in financial services every inconsistency costs trust. What changed: I led the branding implementation across all of Gujarat's major cities, so the brand arrived everywhere as one brand to one standard. Read the case study.
Across my consulting career, the engagements I have led are credited with ₹100 Cr+ in marketing-attributed revenue and three startups taken from zero to ₹10 Cr ARR. For the conversion sprint that took a landing page from under 1% to 12%, see the breakdown; for the full list, see all case studies.
Why work with me
I have sat on every side of marketing in this city, and that is what makes the advice useful.
I have been the agency. I founded a search-marketing firm in Ahmedabad in 2009 and sold marketing to founders for five years. I know what agencies promise, what they deliver, and where the gap between the two hides.
I have been the client. I led digital marketing for international markets at Crimson Interactive (Enago) from Mumbai, then ran strategic alliances and marketing for South Korea, China and Taiwan from Seoul, with a growth target every month. Every country taught the same lesson: the plan matters more than the channel.
I have been the founder. I built Cuneiform Consulting and Neoma Media, and I spend my clients' money as if it were my own because I know what it takes to earn it.
I teach this. I am a guest lecturer at GLS University and Rashtriya Raksha University and run The Founder's Boardroom for business owners, so the thinking behind every recommendation is something your team can learn, not a black box.
That is the judgement you get when I sit on your side of the table: 17+ years, ₹100 Cr+ in revenue generated for clients, 125+ clients served, and an office on Jagatpur Road rather than a dashboard in another city. Fact sheet and bios.
Three ways to work together
Not every business is ready for ongoing leadership. Start with the piece you need; each one builds on the last.
| Engagement | Purpose | Format | Best when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marketing audit (Discover + Diagnose) | Understand what is broken, what is wasting money and what to fix first | Fixed scope, two to four weeks, written diagnosis and readout | Spend is rising, results are not, and you want the truth before the next decision |
| Marketing strategy (Design + Deploy) | A structured growth plan, budget and 90-day roadmap, with briefs for whoever executes | Project, typically following the audit | You know something must change and need one plan your team and agencies can run |
| Ongoing advisory (Drive) | Monthly reviews, budget decisions, vendor scorecards and the owner's dashboard | Monthly retainer; as Fractional CMO when you want full ownership of the number | You want a senior person accountable for marketing without a full-time hire |
How fees work
The audit and the strategy are priced as projects; ongoing advisory and Fractional CMO work are monthly retainers. Terms are set after the free conversation, based on your objectives, your situation and the scope the diagnosis reveals, so I do not publish a rate card. Two rules never change: no percentage of ad spend, and no performance-linked fees. Ad spend and execution costs are always separate from my fee. For the common fee structures consultants use, read how marketing consultants charge in India.
A digital marketing consultant in Ahmedabad, not a dashboard in another city
Local matters in this work: the buyer in Prahlad Nagar researches differently from the one in Gandhinagar, and the manufacturer in Changodar needs a different funnel from the clinic in Satellite.

Where I work
All of Ahmedabad, including SG Highway, Prahlad Nagar, Bodakdev, Thaltej, Satellite, Vastrapur, Navrangpura, Gota, Science City, Bopal and the industrial belts of Changodar, Sanand and Naroda. Gandhinagar and GIFT City in person; businesses elsewhere in Gujarat, in Mumbai and across India in a hybrid model.
The education brand and the aesthetic clinic above are both Ahmedabad businesses, and the Kotak rollout ran city by city across Gujarat. Local results come from understanding local buyers, which is why the first stage of every engagement is spent inside your business, not inside a tool.
Questions business owners ask before hiring a digital marketing consultant
Straight answers, including the ones that are not in my favour.
What does a digital marketing consultant in Ahmedabad actually do?
A consultant diagnoses why your marketing is not producing business, decides the strategy, the channel mix and the budget, and leads whoever executes it: your team, your agency or freelancers. An agency executes; a consultant decides and answers for the result. In my practice that means a written diagnosis, a strategy and 90-day plan, briefs and scorecards for every vendor, and a monthly review of marketing-attributed revenue.
Should I hire a digital marketing agency or an independent consultant?
Hire an agency when the plan is clear and you need hands to run it. Hire a consultant when spend is rising and results are not, when several vendors report their own success and nobody owns the number, or when you are about to commit a serious budget and want it decided properly. Many Ahmedabad businesses need a consultant first and an agency second. The full comparison is in Fractional CMO vs marketing agency.
What is the difference between a freelance digital marketer and a consultant?
A freelancer executes one skill, such as running Google Ads or writing content, usually per task or per month. A consultant works above the channels: strategy, budget, measurement and the leadership of everyone executing. If one channel needs a specialist, hire a freelancer and I will help you brief them. If the problem is that the channels do not add up to business, you need the consultant.
How do I choose the best digital marketing consultant in Ahmedabad?
Ask three things. First, for numbers from businesses like yours, with the reasoning, not just the headline. Second, how they measure success: if the answer is rankings, reach or followers rather than enquiries and revenue, keep looking. Third, who executes and who is accountable: a consultant who also sells the execution has a reason to recommend more of it. The complete checklist is in how to choose a digital marketing consultant in Ahmedabad.
How much does a digital marketing consultant in Ahmedabad charge?
It depends on scope. An audit is usually a one-time project fee; strategy work is a project; ongoing advisory is a monthly retainer. I quote after a free 30-minute conversation, based on your objectives and what the diagnosis will need to cover, and ad spend and execution are always separate. I do not take a percentage of spend or performance-linked fees. For the structures consultants in India commonly use, read how marketing consultants charge in India.
How much should my business spend on digital marketing?
There is no safe percentage. The right budget comes from your unit economics: what a customer is worth over their lifetime, what you can afford to pay to acquire one, and how long you can wait for payback. A manufacturer with a six-month sales cycle and a clinic with same-week bookings should not use the same rule. Working that out, channel by channel, is the budget allocation plan every audit produces.
I get enquiries but they do not convert into customers. Is that a marketing problem?
Usually yes, but not a traffic problem. Leads that do not convert point to positioning (the wrong buyers are attracted), lead quality (campaigns optimised for volume), follow-up (enquiries answered late or inconsistently), pricing, or the handover between marketing and sales. The diagnosis separates these so you fix the real one rather than buying more of the same leads.
How do I measure the ROI of my digital marketing agency?
Connect spend to revenue, not to clicks. You need one funnel from first touch to sale, in your own analytics and CRM, with cost per enquiry, cost per qualified lead and cost per customer by channel, and the payback period on spend. Then judge the agency on the scorecard you wrote in the brief, every month. If your agency cannot show you that, it is not their fault alone; nobody set it up. That setup is part of every engagement I run.
Which digital marketing channels work best for B2B and manufacturing businesses in Ahmedabad?
For considered B2B purchases, search usually comes first: buyers research specifications, suppliers and credentials on Google and increasingly in AI answers, so SEO, Google Maps and a website that proves capability carry most of the weight. LinkedIn and targeted email reach the decision-makers; Google Ads capture active demand for specific products; IndiaMART and trade directories feed volume that needs qualifying. Meta and broad social rarely drive B2B revenue in Gujarat on their own. The right mix depends on your sales cycle and order size, which is what the audit establishes.
Do I need a Fractional CMO or a digital marketing consultant?
Both, in sequence. Every engagement starts as consulting: a diagnosis and a strategy. If you then want one senior person to own the number month after month, lead the team and agencies, and report to you the way a CMO reports to a CEO, that is the Fractional CMO engagement. If your team can run the plan with periodic reviews, ongoing advisory is enough.
How soon will I see results?
You get the diagnosis within two to four weeks and a 90-day plan with a target for each channel. Paid channels and conversion fixes can show movement within weeks; SEO, content and brand work take months and compound. We agree what success looks like before any money is spent, so the review is against a number we both signed.
Can you train my in-house marketing team?
Yes. Briefing and reviewing your team is part of every engagement, and the thinking is deliberately transferable. Owners who want to lead marketing themselves join The Founder's Boardroom; team members build skills through my digital marketing course in Ahmedabad.
Which areas of Ahmedabad do you cover?
All of Ahmedabad, including SG Highway, Prahlad Nagar, Bodakdev, Thaltej, Satellite, Vastrapur, Navrangpura, Gota, Science City and Bopal, plus Gandhinagar and GIFT City in person. I work with businesses elsewhere in Gujarat, in Mumbai and across India in a hybrid model, with the first stage always done inside your business.
